Nelly's Story

I opened Nelly's back in August 2017 off the back of years of dreaming and planning. My "first" boutique is based in the village of Muirhead on the outskirts of Glasgow near to where I grew up and where I now live after spending many many years living and working in Wiltshire & London. 

The boutique is named in honour of my late Grandmother Nelly McCabe. 

Over the past few years Nelly's won best New Business in Glasgow in 2019 and Best Boutique in 2021!!

In November 2023 we added a beautiful coffee shop to our space, serving afternoon teas, cream teas, lunches, bakes, cakes and treats. 

We also host events such as afternoon tea with Jim Clark Psychic Medium and host other global brands such as Charlotte Tilbury - see our social media for upcoming events. 

Over the years Nelly’s has grown a fantastic customer base, received fantastic and generous press coverage, we are rated 5 STARS with hundreds of online reviews from our gorgeous customers and had the absolute honour and privilege of working with Mr Gok Wan for 2 consecutive years at various fashion events. On that note I'm also pleased to report that Gok is very much the same lovely, genuine, hardworking, warm and funny guy as you see on TV. If you remember How to Look Good Naked which I personally remember the first time around, my mum and I would be fixed to the TV watching how he transformed women from the inside out. Believing in yourself, embracing your body shape and a little wardrobe update, really can transform your life. Fashion has the power to do that. 

We all learn over time, what suits our body shapes, what makes us feel comfortable, what makes us feel confident and fashion has the power to make us feel fantastic. Whether you have the first date, job interview, special occasion, our first thoughts are what will I wear?  I firmly believe us girls (and guys) work out HOW we want to feel on that particular day and we chose our outfits accordingly. Here at Nelly's this is the best part of what I do when our clients find the perfect outfit and strut out the boutique feeling confident & fabulous. 

The other great part of what I do here at Nelly's is sourcing styles from across UK & Europe and in particular I love our Danish brands, easy to wear, great fabrics and are the go to pieces, giving us total effortless chic. 

We generally have new arrivals every few days but we do only stock around 6 to 8 pieces of each - our way to keep your look unique.
